Uploading a playlist (album) to Assets

Uploading a playlist (album) to Assets

In Play MPE v8 multiple track assets (formerly "bundles") are uploaded separately from singles.

Uploading a Playlist (album)

  1. After signing in, choose Assets in the main menu.
  2. To upload an album or multiple track asset (formerly "bundle"), click on Add new playlist.

The Add New Playlist page will open.

  3.  The layout of Add New Playlist is slightly different than adding an individual song but the requirements are similar. In this page, there is overall metadata for the entire playlist asset located at the top of the page; combined with metadata for each individual song (appearing for each track when you click on them).
  4. To upload tracks, click the Browse link or drag and drop audio files into this space:

    The files will begin uploading.

Editing Playlist metadata

The overall playlist asset requires its own set of metadata just like an album has its own artist and title.

Before or while the assets are uploading, you can fill in the metadata fields at the top.

Note: Artist, Title and Owner are required fields. Also by default, if no metadata is filled for each track, the Artist and Title of the overall playlist asset will be applied to the track. This is useful in the case of multiple version releases.

Editing Track metadata

Each track can have its own metadata. To edit a track's metadata, click on the track in its uploading window.

To the right, the Track Information for that track will open. You can edit these fields while the track is processing.

Note: Also by default, if no metadata is filled for each track, the Artist and Title of the overall playlist asset will be applied to the track. This is useful in the case of multiple version releases.

Completing the Asset creation

When you have finished uploading and editing the asset, click the OK button at the bottom right.

The asset window will close and you will see the new asset in the list of assets available to your label.
