Finding Canadian Content releases

Finding Canadian Content releases

Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) regulations require radio stations to play a specific amount of music that qualifies as Canadian Content (CanCon). The CanCon quota for most Canadian stations is 35%, making it essential for radio stations to identify qualifying songs.

Identifying CanCon in Release Emails

When you receive an email notification for a song that qualifies as CanCon, it will be marked with a red maple leaf icon. This visual cue makes it easy to identify eligible tracks at a glance.

Identifying CanCon in the Player

While browsing releases in the Player in gallery view, CanCon releases are indicated by a Canada flag icon along with the word CANADIAN next to the album art. This helps you quickly spot qualifying content.

You can also apply the Market filter and select the Canadian Content check box. This will display only the CanCon releases from the Releases section. You can clear that filter anytime by clicking the X next to it.

If you click on the release summary, you should be able to see a maple leaf icon beside them, clearly marking their eligibility:

When you enter the Release Information for a specific release, tracks that qualify as CanCon will display the Canadian flag icon beside them, clearly marking their eligibility.
For specific MAPL criteria, click in the release's Metadata tab.
